AlUla, Saudi Arabia, [Day Month Year]: The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has successfully completed its Hammayah Forums, a series pivotal to its Human Capital Development objectives serving Vision 2030. These forums have been integral in safeguarding natural and human heritage and enhancing the skills of residents in AlUla, Tayma, and Khaybar across sectors such as culture, arts, heritage, tourism, community development, and environmental protection.

The series launched with the Nature and Wildlife Forum in May, followed by the Tourism Forum in August, and concluded with the Art & Culture Forum in September. Overall, the series comprised over 25 events and interactive activities, benefiting more than 1,000 participants.

The inaugural Nature & Wildlife Forum heightened awareness about environmental protection and showcased RCU's commitments to sustainability. This forum provided vital insights into the region’s ecosystems and fostered community participation and capacity building.

The subsequent Tourism Forum aimed to bolster AlUla’s development into a premier global tourist destination.  Participants received training and insights necessary to drive this transformation, with educational sessions and field trips to prominent tourist sites in AlUla, Khaybar, and Tayma. This forum was tailored to enhance capabilities in tourism and hospitality, bolstering sustainability and regional tourism development.

The series culminated with the Art & Culture Forum, which focused on tangible and intangible cultural heritage. This forum offered cultural tours, including experiences of folk traditions, local foods, handicrafts, and historical storytelling, alongside an art exhibition. It included 10 events totalling more than 40 hours, engaging over 850 nationals in enriched interactions at significant sites like AlUla Old Town. Interactive exhibitions also deepened the attendees’ connections to the region’s artistic legacy through displays of local craftsmanship and archaeological findings.

Dr Fahad Alahmari, Capacity Development Director at RCU, commented, "Each forum in the series builds upon the previous one, progressively enriching participants’ abilities to engage with and promote AlUla’s cultural assets. These initiatives are crucial in nurturing a community that values its heritage and is equipped to preserve its cultural identity for future generations."

The Hammayah Programme strategically develops individual capabilities in alignment with labour market needs, enhances knowledge, and encourages community collaboration. This initiative plays a significant role in regional development, community service, and improving the quality of life for individuals. It is a critical step toward achieving sustainable comprehensive development in AlUla, Tayma, and Khaybar by preparing participants for effective contributions to society and building a future for upcoming generations. This strategic approach nurtures a resilient sense of continuity, ensuring AlUla’s narrative is shaped by its people, thereby preserving, celebrating, and sharing the county’s legacy.
